Another poem and painting from the Antarctic.

day dissolving into slow deep blue
the fabric of light shredded on the
edges of ice and ocean bleeding
crimson and umber and thick orange
twilight tells the names of still stars
waiting behind the scrim of evening
longs days of light then deep pools of night
our suffering world of love and lies
lost in a vista of sun bleached sighs
